Medium: pencil crayon, marker, silver/copper/black pen
This is loosely based on Varda, Elbereth Gilthoniel from Silmarillion. I made it because I wanted a cover for my binder. It was in my binder....then the edges became worn out '^^ Oh dear... This was done about....4 years ago when I was experimenting with veils, armour design and night-scenes. It's also the first time I've ever created a character with blue skin ^_^ I like doing this kind of art, so much, in fact that I'm thinking of making a set of these using gouche and ink.
I showed it to this person four years ago, and she said, "Hey, is that from Lord of the Rings movie?" And I'm thinking "No...it's based on a great character from Silmarillion. Know your Tolkien and know your books! Lord of the Rings was not made by Peter Jackson, and is NOT an allegory of 9/11!" Gosh....I dislike ignorant people...(sorry to say, but it's true)
